The Return of Spring
On May 7, 2019 by MooncharmedDemeter, goddess of agriculture and nourishment, is sorrowful. She has lost her only daughter, Persephone. Nature is sharing her sorrow and is wearing its mourning clothes, cold and snow. We have to do something, we have to bring back Persephone, and Spring as well! With our help, maybe, all can be solved.
On Sunday 7th of April 2019, at 11:00 am, at the “Folktales House – The Museum Otherwise” I had another storytelling performance for children of 2.5 to 4 years-old. It was a free rendition of Persephone’s abduction myth, from Greek Mythology, adapted for very small children.
Using the theater play craft, the children, with their brains and their hearts, confronted challenges, overcame difficulties and helped the heroes of the story to live their dreams. Playing, they boosted their confidence and their autonomy, learning different sides of Greek Mythology. After the performance they created their own spring butterfly, to celebrate its return.
