Frixos’ and Elli’s Journey
On February 9, 2019 by MooncharmedA prince and a princes live in ancient Boeotia. They are in danger and need to flee from queen Ino. Do not fear, though! The Golden-fleeced Ram is here, and with our help, will take Frixos and Elli in a safe place, after they journey through the sky.
On Sunday 3rd of February 2019, at 11:00 am, at the “Folktales House – The Museum Otherwise” I had my first storytelling performance for children of 2.5 to 4 years-old. It was a free rendition of Frixos’ and Elli’s story from Greek Mythology, adapted for very small children.
Through the craft of puppet theatre the children met Melantha, a little fairy doll, who loves children and journeys. Thanks to the magic of children and fairytales, that we call Fantasy, they journeyed through time and space, living adventures in Ancient Greece, met and interacted with the main characters of the stories.
Using the theater play craft, the children, with their brains and their hearts, confronted challenges, overcame difficulties and helped the heroes of the story to live their dreams. Playing, they boosted their confidence and their autonomy, learning different sides of Greek Mythology. After the performance they created their own puppet doll, picturing the Golden Fleece Ram, Frixos and Elli.
