Stories of Wise – Stories of Crazy
On December 24, 2018 by MooncharmedIn Monday, 3rd of December, 2018, in the guesthouse of the association of volunteers of social and emotional support of people with cancer and their families, «Pnoi Agapis» (Breath of Love), my musician Harry Kalimanis and I, under the name «Tales of Guitaria», presented funny stories from the Hebrew tradition of the West, taken from the book «Istories kai Paramithia apo tin Xora ton Yintis» (Stories and Tales from the Yiddish Land) by writer and storyteller Ben Zimet, translated by Anna Peristeri, Polis publications, in a storytelling performance titled «Istories Trelon – Istories Sofon»(Stories of Wise – Stories of Crazy)
«There is a town where it is said that the strangest people live.
Once, God called two of his angels. He gave them two sacks. The first had in it all souls of the Wise, and the second, all souls of the Crazy. The angels had been ordered to fly all over the world, and to place one Wise soul somewhere, and one Crazy soul nearby.
When, however, by mistake, all souls of the Crazy fell in the town of Chelm, the world of that small town changed forever, and the most incredible stories were born!»
The performance happened with volunteering spirit and as practicum that I have to complete as graduand of Storytelling School of Mythos Centre of Study and Dissemination of Myths and Folktales. The poster was made by me.

A few words about me:
My name is Vaia Katsavou. I am a kindergarten teacher, graduate of Faculty of Early Childhood Education of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. I have graduated from Athens’ Storytelling School of MYTHOS Centre for the Study and Dissemination of Myths and Folktales and from Imera Theatre’s 3-year workshop “Lakis Kouretzis”, studying Theater Play Method of interactive and experiential learning using tools and concepts of theater. But my favourite… is that I am a published author.
